Habitat for Humanity® Kenya (HFH Kenya) is a non-profit, non-governmental Christian housing organization dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing. HFH Kenya has been working in Kenya since 1982 and has since then helped over 4500 families organized in over 100 community groups to construct simple, decent and affordable houses through provision of the loan capital needed for housing construction.

The ultimate goal of Habitat for Humanity® is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by building adequate and basic housing.  Furthermore, all our words and actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and mind of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically and religiously unacceptable in our nations and world.

Housing Provision/Construction Through Housing Microfinance For The Productive Poor

Our housing microfinance projects are premised on the very strong belief that anyone with some level of earning is able to own a house. It is lack of the initial capital that hinders most people from building their own homes or improving the homes they are living in.

Two years aftAll_for_a_purpose-1er the post-election violence that rocked our country in 2007/2008, internally displaced persons (IDPs) are still living in deplorable conditions, their tents now tattered and torn, and leaking heavily during the rains. Habitat for Humanity Kenya (HFH Kenya) has been working with IDP families in Maai Mahiu and has helped resettle 170 families in durable, decent, 3-r oomed houses.

However, there are 165 more families still living in tents within the camp and in dire need of decent, durable housing.  Join us in helping these families regain hope for the future by donating towards building decent homes for them.
