Zayed University students participate in a Global Build, Runyenjes

A team of 13 students and 3 teachers from Zayed University in Dubai visited Kenya as part of global build trip .The 6 day build took place in Runyenjes, one of the regions where Habitat for Humanity Kenya serves low income families by providing decent shelter.

Led by Susan Jones, the students worked tirelessly to the amazement of the local community. Working with the locals demonstrated a blend of cultures as the group of students shared their experiences back home whilst appreciating the cultural aspects of the local communities.

“It is amazing how people here are generous, yet they have little incomes. I am touched by this gesture and I look forward to coming back to build with yet another team, said Noora.

During the closing dinner with the team, HFHK National Director, Simon Nyabwengi expressed gratitude to the management of the University for allowing the students to take part in Habitat GV program. He commented on the program saying that, it had over the years proven to be a fertile ground for blossoming of relationship bonds between the local communities and members of global volunteer program. He thanked the students for sacrificing their time to build with the family of Hellen Kageni.
